From long sit position, bring knees up to chest and grasp shins with hands.<BR>Return to long sit position

From long sit position move to sitting tuck, and rock back on to shoulders.<br /><br />Rock back to sitting tuck, and move to long sit.

The pupil starts kneeling with their hands on the mat.The legs are straightened, raising the hips, and the pupil walks on their toes towards their hands.After the shoulders pass over the hands the pupil rolls into a long sit position.

Long sit Sit like a gymnast.

From long sit position move to sitting tuck, and rock back on to shoulders.<BR>Rock back to sitting tuck, and move to long sit.

Start in front support position and raise hips.<BR>With legs straight walk on toes so that shoulders are in front of the hands.<BR>With legs extended take hips over head to long sit position.

From long sit hold arms horizontal.<BR>Keeping legs together rock back on to shoulders until legs are vertical.<BR>Rock back into sitting position.

Backward roll down a gently inclined bench.<BR>Roll back from sitting position placing hands on mat by ears.<BR>Keeping legs extended, legs come over the head to stand.<BR> The teacher helps by taking weight and lifting the torso over the head

Start in a long sit position and bring legs over the head with the hands by the ears to form an invertd pike.<BR> Beat the legs upwards from the inverted pike taking the weight on bent arms.<BR>Allow the hips to pass over the head and take the weight on the top chest.<BR>Allow the legs to 'flop' down into a front support position

Teach Forward Roll in Straddle Shape. Start from Box Shape along a mat-covered bench

From Long Sit rock back to inverted pike shape with arms above the head.<BR>Keeping legs extended sweep them vigorously upward.<BR>Exit with feet on the mat but with hips held high.

From stand with wide horizontal arms the gymnast reaches forward placing hands to mat.<BR>Hips pass over head in tucked position with weight being taken on the shoulders.<BR>Arms and shoulders reach forward.<BR>Stand

Starting in squat position complete forward roll with legs extended and with feet together.<BR>Hands are placed on the mats, by the hips, to help gain standing position.

One of the pair becomes a &quot;Static object&quot; and/or a means of support for the other partner by creating a Base.

Counter Balances. (mobile) The pair lean away from each other, whilst remaining in contact by means of a grip or interlock. Once a static balance has been achieved, the state of equilibrium may be disturbed by lowering and raising the C of G of one or both of the gymnasts. The counter balance will thereby become a mobile action. By tilting a static balance to one side, and skittering to move the feet quickly,the original balance will become a mobile spin. By a Base gymnast lowering a Top gymnast out of a static balance, the equilibrium may be disturbed, to become a mobile counter balance, and thereby create an exit idea from static balance.

Forward roll with feet at a higher level than the hands.<BR>Feet are behind a line and hands are placed on a lower matted floor.<BR>By walking towards the edge of the mat on the toes, the hips are raised.<BR>The roll is completed in a standing position.

Sit in straddle with arms horizontal.<BR>Lower arms and grip behind knees.<BR>Roll to the left taking weight on shoulder. Transfer weight across shoulders keeping legs in straddle postion.<BR>Exit in straddle position facing in reverse direction

Run to two foot take off, jump forward roll to stand.

From long lie raise extended arms and legs until hands touch ankles forming a 'pike' shape.

Teach Tuck Rocking into Tuck Rock to Feet into Squat Shape Balance with weight on hands.

Starting situation. A straddle sitting on the shoulders of B. B in a standing base, holding the ankles of A, with A in a straddle sit position on their shoulders. Grip. Initially forward overgrasp grip behind the ankles of A. Change to place the palms of the hands to press down on the front of the tense lower legs of A. Works when Gymnast B, holding A on their shoulders, changes from a standing upright base into a lunge base. Changes the grip from behind ankles to in front of the tense lower legs of A. Gymnast A lowers their body backwards into a Horizontal counterbalance. The shoulders of gymnast B being used as the fulcrum for the counterbalance.

Jog to bound over the mat.<BR>One foot take off to land on other foot.

Balances may be understood as Static, held positions, where one partner supports all the weight of; or some of the weight of the other partner, to create a co-operative pair image. All static balances must be held and shown for three seconds. Whatever the base created, the top gymnast may choose to place full weight onto the partner
